Why it works
Benzoyl peroxide
Benzoyl peroxide kills C. acnes, the bacteria involved in acne, and unlike antibiotics, bacteria have not been shown to become resistant to it. It is sold over the counter at 2.5% to 10%, and lower strengths such as 2.5% cause less dryness and irritation.
